POLYAMORY: Married and Dating – May This Show Bring More Love to the Better Worlds We Desire

While living here in the Portland area, I’ve finally had a chance to watch the two full seasons of Polyamory: Married and Dating, the show that brings the spotlight on three polyamorous families and their beautiful, adventurous, explorative, and sometimes challenging lives.

It’s been a real pleasure to watch the show in the company of my housemates, who are also involved in the local sex-positive culture. We’ve had time to compare notes, discuss, and reflect on how the experiences of these models compare to the experiences of each of our lives. What kind of dynamics are likely to occur when one engages in styles of love that are beyond binaries, that are more expansive in the ways they engage with inclusiveness in our amorous lives?

Personally, I’ve enjoyed many aspects of this series, in both seasons. Including the settings in two areas of Southern California where I’ve lived very significant chapters of my life. Riverside, where I did my graduate studies in the 1980s at UCR, while i held the job of teaching basic Italian that one of the Season #1 protagonists also holds (coincidence?!) And San Diego, where in the 1990s I actively participated in the Bisexual Forum founded by two avatars of bisexuality, Fritz Klein and Regina Reinhardt. In my experience, San Diego is a city of community, cafe life, holistic health, and warm jacuzzis where people become soft, mellow and amorous as to almost seem to melt into one another.

I’m not at all surprised that it’s been home to the four people in the quad whose interlocking lives are at the center of the show’s narrative. I also like the sense of expanded tribe that emanates from this narrative, especially in Season # 2, where one can also observe characters evolve and even switch roles at times. It’s amazing how places, locations, and one’s experiences in them, are powerful in shaping the narratives of our lives. And in creating legacies, traditions, seeds that eventually evolve, have a life of their own, and expand. West Hollywood is the setting for the Season # 2 triad, and it’s also well rendered as an ecosystem that really holds the characters. I do realize that any reality show, when well done, is also, to some extent, fictionalized. And yet, I feel very strongly that there is authenticity in the narratives, settings, and characters. I feel that people have really put themselves on the line to be who they are, at least to the extent that that’s possible when one invites a Hollywood camera into one’s private life.

One aspect I’ve really appreciated in the show’s structure is the quick asides that interrupt the narrative sequence to help viewers pry into the inner life of each character. What is this person feeling at this moment? What desire, anxiety, motivation, concern is motivating their action? How is their mind, their heart responding to the reality they are experiencing at this time. These asides are quick enough that one returns easily to the narrative. And they are also poignant enough that they provide, with the insights into the characters, also a beautiful way to get a sense of the philosophical gist of polyamory, of what reflections, principles, and intellectual awareness characterize this lifestyle and the communities where it is practiced. The decision to use asides this way has a long tradition in literature, especially in the English language, where of course it was widely used by the Bard, another voice whose tones resonate strongly with sexual fluidity and amorous inclusiveness alike.

Another aspect I’ve appreciated is the integration of sensual, erotic, and sexual scenes into the overarching narrative. Yes. That’s the way life is, right? “Life” is not divided in “genres” (as in erotica vs fiction), as some entertainment production systems would have us believe. “Life,” real life I mean, is actually one integrated narrative. There our minds, our hearts, our yonis, our lingams, and all the different symbiotic parts that make up our beings speak their truth, and manifest the reality we co-create with others. So, yes, I do appreciate that in this show we are taken into the bedrooms, the jacuzzis, the retreats, the play parties where people who love each other experience amorous existence. And where, from this experience they evolve and transform as partners in their relational lives.

This was exactly one of my goals when told the story of a very significant period in my life, especially my San Diego years, in the 1990s. I wanted the intellectual, the emotional, and the erotic aspects of my experience at that time to be synergized into one narrative. it was a way to offer a story that made sense and was beautiful and empowering to those wishing to be brave enough to read and be inspired. This memoir, Eros, was a Lambda finalist in 2006, when fist published with the subtitle A Journey of Multiple Loves. A new edition is now in the works, in both English and Italian, with the new subtitle, The Wisdom of Love. There I’ve fast forwarded to 2020 to really celebrate more fully the experiences in my life that make it part of the communities where amorous inclusiveness and sexual fluidity are practiced. Yes, love is good for you when practiced as an art, and the more you practice the more you learn about it and can share with others.

And this can happen over the arch of one’s entire life! One thing I wish to see more of when Polyamory or other reality shows of this kind resume, is a wider diversity in the age of the story’s protagonists. What about sexy grandmothers? Perhaps that’s another taboo to break up?

Here I really want to congratulate the brave director and the whole very brave and generous cast for this gift to the world. A gift that empowers people to practice love more expansively and evolve as their ability to generate this energy and channel it also expands. I do wish for a world where these gifts are appreciated and where they do their job of opening up options for others. I feel happy and proud of my part in co-creating this world with my own small contributions. And I wish everyone in the show a beautiful future of many decades where the magic of love manifests in many forms to bring health, happiness, and abundance to their lives.

Thanks Michael McClure, KamalaDevi McClure, Reclaiming Walker O’Rourke, Roxanne DePalma, Rachel Rickards, and many others. May your generosity to the better world we all want and imagine be rewarded. You are wonderful and i love you!

The Resilience of Love – Inner Meditation – A Guided Practice

The Resilience of Love presents:

Inner Meditation: A Self-Care Practice in the School of Ecosexual Love

Conducted by Dr. SerenaGaia

Inner Meditation is a very significant practice in the care of the ecosystem called Thyself!

This article/video/podcast includes an introduction to the ancient practice of inner meditation, with its origins and benefits. It includes a guided demonstration of the meditation process itself, which can function as a self-initiation for students and followers willing to teach themselves.

If you prefer to listen rather than reading, we invite you to access our Podcasts about Inner Meditation, HERE for the INTRODUCTION, HERE for the GUIDED PRACTICE. THANK YOU!

Questions we will address in the article include:

• How can we use this ancient practice to take care of our personal ecosystem?

• How can we carry out a meditation that connects us with our inner being and the symbiotic parts that make it up?

• How can we raise the internal vibration while our awareness shifts the focus towards ourselves?

• How can we connect with planetary bodies, celestial forces, and those of Earth?

• How do we couple the yin and yang energies within us?

• How can we expand this vibration towards the areas and communities we care about?

These are the themes that we will address, while sharing inner meditation experiences and practicing together.

Before we start. How to prepare:

  • Eat moderately if you have a meal before the practice
  • Prepare a very bland and abundant herbal tea and have it warm and handy for sipping while we explain the practice
  • Wear comfortable clothes
  • Have enough space around you to sit comfortably in a yoga position on the floor, possibly on a mat or carpet and with your back resting
  • Have some pillows handy so you can use them to adjust the position to your comfort
  • Have a sleep mask handy or bandanna to cover your eyes
  • If necessary for your knees or other body area, sit in a chair

Inner Meditation

What’s meant by Inner Meditation? It’s simply a meditation that focuses inward while your body does not move. It’s not a medit-action, where you’d be doing something, for example.

Before you begin, I invite you to ask yourself two questions:

  1. What is your experience with inner meditation? Have you heard about it? Where? What context? Have you been curious about it? Have you tried it?
  2. If you are familiar with it, what’s your sense of its benefits? Have you felt some of these benefits before? What can a regular practice of Inner Meditation do for you.

It can function as the basis for your practice of holistic health
It can establish a positive relationship with your own inner landscape
It can offer your personal ecosystem calibration for the day
It can rebalance the fluxes of energies and emotion that traverse your being from impacts with the external world
It can activate the flow of your vital energy
It can reset the vibration of this energy
It can transform the frequency that emanates from your ecosystem and impacts others around you

It seems like a waste of time. Just sitting there doing nothing, right?

One hour spent doing this every day can easily save you many hours spent in

Anger, bad temper, resentment, sadness, desperation, illness
Standing in line at the doctor’s office, in a pharmacy, in therapy, at the hospital

I have been practicing for over 20 years, learning from various schools, and adapting forms to me

Time of day to do it: Morning, on waking up
My practice: waking up two hours before anything else on schedule

One hour drinking hot liquids, water, bland herbal tea

One hour sitting in a yoga position with straight but supported back, ear plugs, eye mask to protect sleep

That’s how I do it. We are all different. Everyone will adapt the practice to their needs and themselves

Here are some of the phases through which I will take you.

Get in position

Place your sleep mask over your eyes

Collect your energies

Enter your inner landscape

Breathe

Find interfaces between your external and your internal self-perception, could be hands, feet, crown

Breathe into the sacred, breathe naturally and with awareness, feel air through nostrils, down your pipes, into lungs, down your abdomen

Breathe into your spine, down to sacrum

Drop your awareness from the mind into the body

Listen, there could be emptiness, dark field, maybe anguished

Accept, stay in that

Wait for it to change color, vibration

Listen to the breath

Feel the vibration within yourself

Stay in that

Expand your awareness to the whole inner ecosystem, from the throat into the root, sacred, feel the activation of your vital energy as your awareness is enhanced

Connect with cosmic energies

White light enters from the crown, North Star, heart, left kidney, dantien, Yang energy

Green light from the Earth, through the pelvic floor, enters into the sacred, connected with the soil under you, Yin energy, your awareness crosses through the Earth, goes towards the southern cross, opposite the North Star

Moves up from your right buttock, right kidney, and into your dantien

Circle in the dantien, the two energies mix, spiral together, make a clockwise circle in the belly

Let these cosmic and terrestrial energies intermingle with each other

Clench your abdominal muscles, contract them as if you were trying to get a bowel movement, but wider

Stay in that contraction

Then release, let out the sound that wants to come

Belching, welcome

Farting, welcome

Expel air

Feel the expansion of a stronger vibration, carrying more vital energy, reaching out to include limbs

Stay in that

Expand frequency of your inner vibration into areas of our life that interest you at this time, visualize these areas, activate the energy field toward them, travel there with your energy body, connect with their frequency, imagine them as your vibration impacts them, feel your connection to them, feel how you energy impacts them, brings them to life, heals them

Visit as many of these areas as you feel inspired to do

Gradually come back to yourself, feel your own dantien

Gradually let go, relax, and when ready, slowly remove your eye mask and open your eyes

The Covid Chronicles # 8 – The Sleep Cure: Vaccines and Anxiety – La Cura del Sonno: I Vaccini e l’Ansia

Yesterday i went to bed for a nap at about 6 pm and i woke up 14 hours later. (Scrolla giù per l’italiano.)

Woooow!

It was the best vaccine there is in town against all kinds of worries and anxieties related to Covid scenarios.

This deep sleep without dreams is really when you feel that the body gets a chance to repair itself.

I had been reading and staying awake at late hours too much!

The Italian connection requires strange hours when you are in Vancouver, WA.

Thanks oh sweet body of mine for being capable of catching up.

There is much talk about vaccines at this time.

I think vaccines are great. Who would want to catch polio or diphtheria, or smallpox for that matter.

My very modest opinion is that if a disease is fatal or permanently damaging, having a vaccine be mandatory is fair enough.

If on the other hand, a disease is curable, then it s great to also have optional vaccines for those who like them.

That s why i m hoping that Covid also becomes a curable disease soon enough.

That way people can relax, societies can learn to practice the beautiful lessons of a more simple, less consumer oriented life under lockdown, and even Bill Gates, the uber philanthropist, can perhaps realize he doesn’t have to be responsible for financing a “global solution” for all of his beloved humankind.

And he can go back to Harvard, finish his degree, and perhaps become a doctor, if that s what he really likes to do when he grows up.

That way all possible conspiracies will be debunked, and all conspiracy theorists will shut up!

How does this sound?

If you re curious, i suggest you try the 14 hour sleep cure.

No social media, no news, no interaction, no food, no drink, just deep sleep.

Trust me. It helps out. A bit of perspective. A pinch of irony. And it all shines.

Enjoy the day wherever you are.

Love and blessings and namaste!

# # # # #

Niente social media, niente notizie, nessuna interazione, niente cibo, niente bevande, solo sonno profondo.

Fidati di me. Aiuta. Un po’ di prospettiva. Un pizzico di ironia. E tutto brilla.

Goditi la giornata ovunque tu sia.

Amore, benedizioni e namaste!

The Covid Chronicles # 7 – Preparations: Bill Gates and Plasma Cures

In the ways of information, i want to share this link as well. It’s to a TED Talk by Bill Gates back in 2015.

It alerts people that humankind is not as ready for a global epidemic as it could be. A number of people do question Bill Gates’ qualifications for, and integrity in assessing these very significant matters.

And i could well be one of them.

This said, interestingly enough, Bill Gates does mention what has turned out to be a significant cause for hope in the Covid 19 crisis: the practice of infusing patients with the plasma of the healed, often known as Convalescent Plasma.

His example? The Ebola epidemic in West Africa, where, Bill laments, this plasma therapy wasn’t done.

This is good news to me. And everyone is invited to check this out at minute 2.43 in the TED Talk video.

This mention of plasma therapy indicates to me that Gates’s horizon about how to proceed with pandemics might be more modulated and wider than what his pronouncements in recent tweets suggested. And since he is influential, this counts.

So i am happy to share the news here.

Much has been said lately about “conspiring” and about “theorizing” of what that might be all about. Especially around this philanthropic pundit.

Sometimes there are conspirators. And so those who theorize about them may do a good job of protecting us from their plans. Helping to avert these plans ahead of time.

Sometimes there aren’t any real conspiracies. Theorists of such possible events can still be useful, and it’s healthy to hear about them to the extent that we can still keep our energetic focus on possibilities for a positive win/win result.

Of course, often only history will tell and there is no conclusive knowledge in advance.

Let’s keep our vision that cures will become accessible widely, that they will work out, and will save many patients one after the other. Let’s hope that these effective cures will naturally lead to a vaccine that’s a safe option for those who most need it and like it.

I hope this is useful. It certainly helped me and i am happy i found it. All good wishes to everyone.

The Covid Chronicles # 6 – Dr. De Donno: The Courage for Steps Toward a Curable Disease

Here is the page on Giuseppe De Donno and Plasmotherapy. With my heart in my hands I send many positive energies to Dr. De Donno and however many others in the field are working to save lives with the treatment of Plasma, and thus transform Covid into a curable disease, for which a vaccine will be appropriately optional, when one will be found without contraindications. I urge everyone to keep this positive vision in mind, a vision that at this stage of the crisis helps to reassure people, including those in authority, those on the ground, and however many other people may be vulnerable to getting sick at the moment. Thanks!

Grazie!

The Covid Chronicles # 5 – Power and Wild Love with Bruce Lyon of ISTA

I am feeling very inspired while listening to Bruce Lyon speaking about wild love in the ISTA online conference. I feel a strong resonance between his inspiring words and the voice of Gaia that i’ve been listening to and channeling. It’s beautiful and i feel inspired with courage. I really appreciate these powerful voices that help us get out of the pall of fear the Covid crisis has produced. Thank you Bruce Lyon, your words are medicine.

The Covid Chronicles # 4 – Plasmatherapy in Oregon and Washington State

If you are in the Oregon/Washington State area, and value awareness of where and how to access options for Convalescent Plasma, this information may be useful to you.

I am so happy to have found it. And I do hope that more people who’ve recovered fill the plasma tanks with their blood donations. I find this way of helping one another through this crisis to be really encouraging and empowering. When it works, as it often does from experimental data in Italy and China, the more healed, the more plasma, the more plasma, the more healed. It’s a chain of love and compassion for those who choose it, that may work very well all around.

And i’m happy to have found a health care facility near me that can practice this type of cure, which at this point is experimental and compassionate. Unfortunately, i haven’t been able to find any follow up news about Liliana Locke, the first woman in Oregon who has received the plasma transfusion. I believe there is good hope for her, in the context of the news i get from Mantova. I am sending good energies to Liliana, wherever she might be at this time. If you are aware of updates, please comment. Thank you!

To all my friends and loved ones in this region, and everyone else. Enjoy the good news!

More good news. Convalescent plasma also arrives in Seattle, on a compassionate, experimental basis, at Swedish Health Services. I’m overjoyed. And i do wish the brave doctors and patients and donors much success and courage all around! Love and blessings to those intent in helping the sick and spreading hope for a cure that can be expanded to many others.

The Covid Chronicles # 3 – Day Trips and Herd Immunity – Dr Katz’s Educational Interview

Dr. Katz, an MD with a solid experience and background in public health, recommends building herd immunity as a way to contribute to total harm minimization. And so today we practiced. We went on an outing in nature and visited areas where social distancing was very easy to practice. We took out immune systems out for a day in open air, beach, viewpoints and countryside, so that our white blood cells and personal ecosystems could exercise well for the time when restrictions might ease up and the goal of heard immunity might be in sight. it was really great! I have to admit, the taste of freedom was inebriating, especially on a day leading into a full moon night. Yes, when you have good friends and people to love, navigating a crisis can be just as exciting as standing in the void with the awareness that something really beautiful and even better that you can imagine could arrive!

One really special time was, in our outing, finding an open cafe on the shore near the river estuary. One could go in and order take out. And then consume the order on public space chair outside. I adore cafe life. And it’s one of the things i’ve really missed lately. I especially cherish the taste of the froth from a dry cappuccino in my mouth. I had a blueberry mocha and, lo and behold, i open the cup, and find the most delicious froth inside. As it came to my mouth, the joy was almost orgasmic. Oh consumer me, i don’t have a very expensive taste, just a stop at a cafe is enough, and yet, i really deeply cherish these little pleasures of life.

Here i share some pictures of the outing, with deep gratitude to those who enjoyed with me and to the universe that conspire to make this possible for us. Yes, the universe also conspires amazing manifestations of joy sometimes. Lol.

Enjoy the pictures. And if you’d like educate yourselves about “total harm minimization” and “herd immunity” from Dr. Katz.

The Covid Chronicles # 2 – Conspirators and Theories

Sometimes i get accused of being a conspiracy theorist. I don’t think i am one. My rhetoric can become a bit heated when i feel indignant. And i feel that it’s important for my voice to inspire a wide range of emotions with my words. Sometimes my emotions are very strong. And i do want my rhetoric to reflect that. If i do sound too passionate to you, please forgive. Thank you!

One aspect of using a wide palette to color one’s emotions expressed in one’s words is that they galvanize attention where it’s needed. The places where attention is needed are sometimes radiant, and sometimes very dark.

And my sense is that using that palette appropriately can generate waves that then can result in returning news that are exactly when one would have wished, or even better.

For example, i was all up in arms about a magnate of the IT industry proposing that my first matria‘s prime minister use taxpayers money to fund his vaccine research project. I was concerned that this priority might hijack progress for the experimental cure based in Hyperimmune Plasma. Just because, of course, when a cure is found, vaccines become less mandatory and less needed.

And i wrote and translated extensively about this so it could make sure it would become more known at least to those in my circles, to the people i love.

And, yes, i did get to hear that my rhetoric was a bit hyper-passionate from some very appreciated readers.

I was passionate, YES, i agree.

To me, the news that a cure is found for a disease believed to be incurable is GOOD news. I want to celebrate unconditionally! And now i know i really can.

Lo and behold, i get back online to find out that my wildest hopes have come true. As of today, the Hyperimmune Plasma cure has entered the health care system of my second matria, the USA! And will be available for thousands of patients to use.

Woooow!

I feel overjoyed. And relieved for all the people who are now in the thick of the disease! Buon coraggio e buona salute to all of you!

Sta girando questa vignetta, vedi sopra. Chi saranno i complottatori? Chi saranno i complottisti? Speriamo proprio che si possa ridere di questa congettura, vero?

The Covid Chronicles # 1, May 4, 2020

This is very good news to me. Apparently, the experimental cure from the Poma Hospital in Mantua has entered about 4000 hospitals in the US too. It’s based on Hyperimmune Plasma from the blood of the healed. It’s experimental, and of course if one is severe with phase three of the disease, it’s compassionate and can help one heal. Woooow! I’m really glad to hear this. I am moved that the work of dedicated doctors in the field is recognized, and that patients who wish so can access the cure. It makes me feel at peace with the system. And i wish everyone health, wealth and longevity, as the Tao say.

I also hope that this eases up the Mantua hospital team, which apparently was investigated by the Italian authorities on the very same day that Bill Gates called Italy’s prime minister about funding research for his vaccine plan w/ Italian taxpayers money. Which i did find, let’s say, unconvincing. And I want to trust that was just a coincidence! Lol! <3

Here i link both articles, the one about the adoption in the USA, and the one about the inspection of the Italian team. Please let’s pray that the team can continue to administer plasma and save people, and that word of the cure being made accessible more widely spreads so that people are aware they can benefit if they so wish.
