New Program: The Alchemy of Ecosexual Love

Connect with your natural gift to Love

The Alchemy of EcosexualLove combines practices and principles from Tao, Tantra, amorous inclusiveness, and sexual fluidity to empower participants to reconnect with their natural gift to love.

By Dr. SerenaGaia, aka Serena Anderlini-D’Onofrio

This sequence of three workshop is for people with the desire and courage to love fearlessly and unconditionally. When you overcome your fear of getting lovesick, of being rejected, of being consumed with jealousy, and of pleasure, what will keep your loving nature from becoming fully expressed?

This introductory training helps to dissipate these four major obstacles to love. We welcome diversity, appreciate consent, emphasize confidentiality, and support all forms of amorous expression.

Join us as we transform fear into love with the Alchemy of Ecosexual Love.

This content is organized in a sequence of three main 90-minute segments or workshops.

Workshops # 1 and # 2 focus on Tao and Tantra, workshop # 3 adds fluidity and inclusiveness (compersion).

The sequence can be complemented with an introductory evening, which may include a puja and a 30-minute documentary film, and a final ceremony called Wedding of Ecosexual Love. The ceremony may be followed by a facilitated celebration party.

The transforming program helps people overcome their fear of love. It works successfully with groups and in communities. Segments of it can also be included in gatherings and festivals. It has been produced in Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Italy, and Estonia.

As a recent attendee commented:

“The Alchemy changed the way I can receive or give touch, the way I feel about sexuality and the Earth. You created a bubble where we all could connect and be true to ourselves and show ourselves. You inspired me with the power of the energy that hands can create for another person in connection with the natural elements.”
– Karolina, attendee of the workshop

What Is the Alchemy of #EcosexualLove? Che cos’è l’Alchimia dell’#AmoreEcosessuale?

What is the Alchemy of Ecosexual Love? Che cos’è l’Alchimia dell’Amore Ecosessuale? It’s the alchemy by which widely diverse people come together to celebrate each other as lovers who already always share a partner, the Earth. E l’alchimia che fa si che persone molto diverse di trovino insieme per celebrare loro stessi come amanti della compagna che già comunque accomuna tutti e tutte: la Terra.

Recognizing each other as metamours involves a new energetic awareness of those who also love this partner. Riconoscersi come metamori comporta una nuova consapevolezza energetica per chi come noi ama questa compagna.

In a Wedding of Ecosexual Love, celebrating this shared lover together is easy. In uno Sposalizio d’ Amore ecosessuale è facile celebrare insieme questa amante condivisa. And it empowers people to feel that expanded love is ecological, sustainable, and good for you. Ed impodera le persone a sentire che l’amore espanso è ecologico, sostenibile, e buono per la salute. It also helps people find more fun in, and sustenance for, diadic relationships. Aiuta anche le persone a divertirsi di più, e sostenere più facilmente le relazioni diadiche.

For me this was a wonderful way to offer the world some of my most cherished gifts. Per me è stato un modo di portare al mondo alcuni del miei regali preferiti. It’s exciting to feel part of a new tribe and connected to a whole new set of friends. E eccitante sentirsi parte di una nuova tribù con un nuovo gruppo di amici e amiche.

“Let s love the earth we make love on.” Says my friend Susan M Block. “Amiamo la terra su cui facciamo l’amore.” Dice la mia amica Susan Block. At Suncave Gardens the earth conspires to do just that! A Suncave Gardens la terra cospira per fare proprio questo!

I feel a very deep sense of gratitude for all those who could be with us this time, for those who supported us, and for those with a wish to participate (again) in the future. Sento un profondo senso di gratitudine per tutte le persone che hanno potuto unirsi a noi questa volta, per chi ci ha sostenuto, e per chi desidera partecipare (di nuovo) nel futuro.

Let’s keep in touch and make our bonds stronger. Teniamoci in contatto e rafforziamo i legami. We will be present next time the Alchemy of Ecosexual Love manifests on an ecosystem that calls the loving energy of our team. Saremo presenti la prossima volta che l’Alchimia dell’Amore Ecosessuale si manifesta in un ecosistema che chiama l’energia amorevole della nostra equipe.

Mission Statement: The Alchemy of Ecosexual Love

The Alchemy of Ecosexual Love is an educational program in the arts of love designed for people with the desire and courage to love fearlessly and unconditionally.  It combines practices and principles from Tao, Tantra, amorous inclusiveness, and sexual fluidity to empower students to reconnect with our natural gift to love.

The program refers to the practices and principles of sex-positive education, which appreciates the value of amorous and sexual expression as a basis for human happiness, health, pleasure, joy, and well-being.  In sex-positive education, a wide variety of ways to express one’s amorous and sexual energy are appreciated, provided these expressions take place among people who are fully consenting adults.  Sex-positive education encourages self-awareness, open communication, good listening, and complete respect for the wishes and non-wishes of others.  Learning to respond to a proposal with a NO, and to accept that NO with respect and gratitude is a first step in sex-positive education.  A NO offered without apology or excuses is often a sign that the person who speaks is taking good care of themselves.  Accepting this response with respect and reverence is a way to contribute to co-creating spaces where a profusion of authentic YES’es is possible.

The practice of Ecosexual Love is based on inner guidance from the core of one’s personal ecosystem, and on respect and devotion to the ecosystems that surround us, including natural, human, and technological ones.  For example, awareness of our fears puts us in touch with our inner vibrations.  Addressing these insecurities is a way to raise our vibration above them and energetically dissipate external obstacles and critiques.

Respect for diversity is a way of being in awe of the diversity of nature, including human nature.  When we come from a place of love, we can appreciate the value of people’s choices even when they don’t correspond to ours.  For example, we can respect open relationships without practicing them, and learn to experience compersion as a way to overcome the fear of being consumed with jealousy.  The programs in The Alchemy of Ecosexual Love are designed to empower participants to evolve their talents in the arts of love and to become artists of Ecosexual Love.

The programs’ elements include the following:

  1. The Tao, a practical philosophy from the Orient that allows one to harmonize the elements of one’s personal ecosystem, treating one’s organs and other parts of the person like members of an expanded family, who function well when they get along.
  2. Tantra, another practical philosophy from the Orient that combines amorous expression with aspects of the sacred, sacred, allowing aural and energetic connections among people who wish to love each other with respect and reverence for their respective vital energies.
  3. Amorous inclusiveness, which allows one to expand one’s ability to love in a wider horizon, beyond exclusive and monogamous norms.
  4. Sexual fluidity, which allows one to perceive and appreciate amorous energies regardless of the gender of the person they emanate from.

The program’s experiential practices emphasize aspects of the practice of love as an art.  In particular, they are designed support participants in alchemically transforming the energy of fear into love.  The opportunity of the program’s courses is to dissipate four major fears that are common obstacles to love.

These fears include:

  • the fear of lovesickness
  • the fear of being rejected
  • the fear of being consumed with jealousy
  • the fear of pleasure

Once these energetic obstacles are removed, once the energy of fear is alchemically transformed into the energy of love, there are no reasons why a person cannot generate all the love he or she desires.  Participants in The Alchemy of Ecosexual Love are empowered to become sources of love in their own lives and communities.

Program – The 1st Annual Gathering of #EcosexualLove @ Lolia Place, Hawaii

Hi Everyone–

Two more weeks to the 1st Annual Gathering of #EcosexualLove at Lolia Place, the ecovillage founded by Robert Silber in Hawaii.

The gathering runs November 1st to 6th, on the east side of Big Island.  We are excited about the Program.  We are able to offer a 5-day retreat, with vegetarian food and cabanas lodging, for only $ 500.  Our program design offers a variety of experiences in the practice of #EcosexualLove.  It is highly integrated with the local nature, ecosystems, and communities.

The program integrates many aspects of #EcosexualLove.  These include conscious sensuality, the relation of natural and personal ecosystems, the experience of dance and movement as forms of being, intersectionality and Earth oneness, sexual embodiment issues, knowledge as a path to love, and much more.

Themes for retreat days include “Getting Connected,” “Anchoring Practices,” “Going Deep and Wide,”  “What We Want and Need Most,” and “Plural Wedding Day.”  The sequence leads up to the ceremony of a Plural Wedding of Ecosexual Love.  This wedding is a simple performance that celebrates the love of all participants for the partner we all share, the Earth.  This love is expressed in particular for the ecosystem that has hosted this retreat, Lolia Ecovillage.  Because everyone shares this ecosystem, everyone is included as an equal.  Willing participants thus become spouses, or “spice,” of the Lolia Place ecosystem. Access and download the program at this link.  Thank you!

We are blessed with wonderful presenters and participants.  Meet them at this link. Thank you!

Excited about this retreat?  Space is limited, but even at this time we can accommodate a few more participants.  Follow your inspiration to join us with one simple click.  Scroll for the Registration button at the bottom of the screen.  Contact karenhery@gmail.com for any questions.  We look forward to welcoming you!

Does not work for you this time around?  Send your blessings to this 1st Gathering and plan to join a subsequent edition.  Share with friends and beloved in Hawaii too. All good wishes to you!

Thank you.

1st ANNUAL GATHERING of ECOSEXUAL LOVE @ LOLIA
with Dr. SerenaGaia and Saffire Bouchelion
@ Lolia Place, Hawaii Island USA – November 1-6, 2017

Are you ready to practice Ecosexual Love in Hawaii?

Lolia Place is a luscious laboratory calling us to gather together to fall even further in love with each other and the partner we all share: the Earth.

Participants in this First Annual Gathering of Ecosexual Love will connect to earth wisdom and the dynamic energies of humankind, as we progress through a week of somatic activities intermixed with free time to enjoy the land, each other, surrounding places on the island.

Through honoring ancestors, guided movement and dance, open discussion of privilege and power, teachings in conscious sensuality, and guided group-intimacy practices we will learn to:

Know and Love the Ecosystem Called Thyself

Know and Love our Most Compersive Lover: Earth

Know and Love Those who Share This Lover with Us: Humankind

and much more . . .

Our experiences together will culminate in a Plural Wedding of Ecosexual Love involving self, earth, and humankind.

Lolia is a clothing optional, conscious sensuality ecovillage. We will be eating vegetarian foods, many of which are grown on the land, and staying in glamping-style accommodations in small shared cabanas.

All participants will share in the responsibilities of creating and maintaining an energetically healthy space, where we treat each other and the land with which we are interacting with respect and dignity, seeking and confirming consent for all types of touch and conversation.

SACRED ECOSEX: Teorema, Il Sessantotto and Pasolini’s Math/Map of Sexual Fluidity and Amorous Inclusiveness

Dear Fellow Earthlings–

Here’s one more event coming up for me.  Sacred Ecosex.  Wonder what it is?  Join us!  It will be fun.  And you’ll get a sense of what that famous year of 1968 really represented for Italy and Europe, from one of the most unconventional film directors of Italy, Pier Paolo Pasolini.

Where:  UPRM, Celis 116

When: Tuesday, March 28, 2017, Hora Universal-10:30-11:45 AM

Title:

SACRED ECOSEX: Teorema, Il Sessantotto and Pasolini’s Math/Map of Sexual Fluidity and Amorous Inclusiveness

Abstract:

This study applies the art of analytical observation to Teorema, by Pierpaolo Pasolini.  This classic of Italian cinema was released in 1968.  This year of paradigm shift, also known as il sessantotto in Italy, beheld a cultural revolution that attacked the malady of the Oedipal Syndrome.  The film captures the zeitgeist of the new era and connects the pervasive effects of this syndrome to the abuse of the partner we all share by the extractive industries.  The movie places a bisexual, polyamorous visitor at the center of the diegetic structure, where he initates members of a nuclear family who are victims of the Oedipal Syndrome into the practices of ecosexual love.  With this prophetic movie, education to sacred ecosex begins.  The film taps into the director’s familiarity with the Roman male sex-trade scene to sacralize sex as the magic encounter of two human ecosystems.  When Pasolini moved to Rome from his native Friuli, his sexual life became organized around this scene.  The film maps the way the sessantotto experience flipped both the filmmaker’s consciousness and the conventions of amorous expression of the era.  The desert represents the force of ecosexual love: the Earth appears naked in the segments that suture the different consciousness explored in the film.  Paolo, the father, connects with the Earth’s metabolism when his heart beats next to it.  Emilia, the housemaid, occupies the soil of the periferia to save its fertility from pervasive concrete.  As “desert,” the partner we all share enters the equation of Pasolini’s theorem.

The Presenter:

Dr. SerenaGaia, aka Serena Anderlini-D’Onofrio, PhD, is a cultural theorist and founder of 3WayKiss.  Her prophetic books have inspired readers around the world, including Gaia (2009), Eros (2006), and Ecosexuality (2015), the first collection on this topic.  Dr. SerenaGaia is a professor of humanities and cinema at UPRM, a renown scholar and public speaker.  This presentation comes from Amorous Visions, her book-in-progress on ecosexuality and Italian cinema.  The research for this study has been externally funded by UCHI, and has been generously supported by Arts and Sciences at UPRM.

It will be a 40-minute presentation with film stills and clips.  Followed by an open active learning session with Questions and Answer.  Many students will be in attendance, including groups from courses in cinema, humanities, and literature.  Everyone is welcome to join from the campus, area, and communities.  To download a flier, go to this link.  We look forward to welcoming you!

Playa Azul I Love You: Together in Ecosexual Love – Film/Documentary

The film

This 30-minute documentary is the story of a 16-year love affair with a beach that culminates in a Plural Wedding of Ecosexual Love.

What is an ecosystem? When we practice Ecosexual Love, an ecosystem is a companion, a partner, a lover: much more than an object of scientific study.  Falling in love with an ecosystem–recognizing the love and health it can bring to people’s lives–is what this film is about. Interpreting the Earth as a lover is the shift in metaphors that has galvanized the Ecosexual Movement. We need to love the Earth we make love on, so as to mark a common path for the sex-positive movement and the global ecology movement. For an adult, responsible behavior of humankind toward nature.

This movement manifests locally as well.  A liminal space for dwellers and lovers, Playa Azul is a beach located on the south side of the shore of Western Puerto Rico.  It is being stewarded with love by a team of dwellers who love to share it with nature lovers. It is now a very hospitable to diverse lovers and conducive of inclusive forms of amorous behavior.

We the co-directors made this film to celebrate the beauty of this ecosystem and the spontaneous behavior it inspires in people when living close to nature and the Caribbean shore.  We extended our invitation to a Plural Wedding of Ecosexual Love, and a community came together for this inclusive and fluid symbolic ceremony. When participants married the beach, a radical form of “marriage equality” was practiced. Everyone became a “spouse” to the ecosystem, which acquired much “spice” by effect of the sacred wedding to this particular piece of Lover Earth.

When we recognize the Earth as the partner we all share, we become “metamours” to one another, namely people who consciously share a beloved. This is one of the powers of practicing Ecosexual Love.

The film documents this coming together and its transformative effects for the community and the beach itself.

Playa Azul I Love You is a coproduction of 3WayKiss, Veritas Productions, and SecondTake Media.

Director Statement

Dr. Serena Gaia:  “We did Playa Azul I Love You to practice #EcosexualLove. We came together to marry the partner we all share, the Earth, and become “spice” for one of her beautiful ecosystems, Playa Azul. We learned to consider each other “metamours.” And we model the world where ‘it is safe to live because it is safe to love.’  I am especially grateful to all those who initiated, believed in, participated, and contributed to completing this project.”

Playa Azul I Love You will be screened at the Symposium Practices of Ecosexuality and Sex-Positive Education, February 3, 2017, at UPRM.

The film has been uploaded as a project in Film Freeway will be submitted to appropriate Film Festivals.  It will be distributed by CreateSpace and Amazon.com

“Immigrant”: Sharing Stories and Images of Special Surveillance and Personal Dilemmas

People are sharing their immigration pictures and stories and so here are mine.

Yes, I am an immigrant and one who chose California as a place where I felt I would be more respected as a single mom at the time who wanted to access a professional line of work.

I was raising my daughter in Rome, Italy, and rent was more expensive than anything i could earn in one month. UC Riverside offered me a teaching assistantship and admitted me to their graduate program. I got a student visa that way. My daughter Paola Coda joined me the second year and stayed until the end of my doctorate. At that point I had a big dilemma. Would I go back or stay? The answer came when Vanderbilt University in Nashville offered me a job as Assistant Professor, and processed a green-card for me. The job was discontinued a few years later, but the green-card stayed. That’s when I moved back to California to be an activist in the LGBT community and practice holistic health. I came to Puerto Rico about 20 years ago to resume my academic career. All these decisions were very difficult to make at the time, and involved many inner conflicts and painful choices.

Some of these are narrated in my memoir, Eros: A Journey of Multiple Loves. Where I explain that because my father was an independent senator elected in the PCI, I was always afraid that the FBI would at some point catch up with me. When I finally got my green-card it was a big relief. That’s when I felt I could really be myself. A few years later an anti-immigrant proposition passed in California. Like many others, I woke up and applied for citizenship so I could vote next time around. And I have ever since.

When I hear about the allegations that 3 million undocumented people would have voted, my mind jars. Being a “legal alien” is hard enough. One constantly feels like on a watch list. On special surveillance. One can only imagine what being undocumented can be like. Why would anyone in that situation want to even get near a voting booth? Just to get arrested and deported? It’s like offering one’s wrists for the handcuffs. Who could ever believe these allegations? The fact that they are even made is evidence that so many people are totally unaware of what the immigration system is like. Of how complicated it is to even go from a temporary visa to a permanent one, if you come in as a “legal alien” to begin with. If you cross without papers, it’s even much more difficult to be recognized. And often people who do so are desperate, with no place to return. How could they possibly risk the little niche they found to try and cast a vote that isn’t even likely to have any effect? It’s just baffling that anybody could believe that an en-masse action like that could ever be orchestrated.

There is more that I want to say. In Italy people also talk a lot about the influx of “foreigners.” They call those from poor countries “extracomunitari/e” which alludes to them being from outside the EU. They are afraid of them, and avoid them. There is a difference though. In Italy there really isn’t an immigration system, as in, say, ICE or the former INS. They way people become “documented” is by waiting enough years as undocumented, until an amnesty comes, at which point their years as “clandestini/e” count. So one would think that there the act of voting without the right to do so could be interpreted as an act of civic presence, as in, say, I’m here, see, I want to perform my responsibilities as a citizen.

In the US any act of brushing against the law, even civil disobedience, as in, say, a march or a demonstration, is a risk when you are not a citizen. It’s a risk even when you are documented on a temporary visa or a green-card. Imagine if all those people who live in constant fear, in this pall of special surveillance, would ever dream of committing voter fraud.

I really feel for those people who are in fact deprived of their right to vote, and are now also accused of having had an effect on the election, or at least on public opinion about it, they could not possibly have had. I remember, as the child of an honest political family, that I felt very invisible during the period when I was not in a position to vote. That was hard enough. And I understand how infuriating it can now be to feel accused of a fraud one could not possibly have been part of.

And all this just because a woman won the popular vote!  Hard to believe.

Here I’m sharing some pictures from the years of the big dilemmas.  Lol.  Speaking as if they were ever resolved.
What really brought peace is the practice of #EcosexualLove.  May the partner we all share protect us.
Love and blessings.
